Professional Cross-Over (Orientation) Programs

AUSIDIVE accepts that dive industry professionals are professionally trained and sees no need for cross-over candidates to undergo time consuming and expensive re-examination to become an AUSIDIVE Professional. However, understanding the basic differences and benefits of AUSIDIVE Training System is essential prior to working within the AUSIDIVE system.

Unlike most other industry cross-over programs, AUSIDIVE Cross-Over Programs are fundamentally FREE and OPEN BOOK. Whilst you are required to pay membership fees and in some cases purchase selected AUSIDIVE product you are not charged for the actual cross-over.

AUSIDIVE provides two levels of cross-over for snorkel and scuba professionals:

1. AUSIDIVE “In-Facility” Cross-Overfor professionals who want to take up immediate employment with an AUSIDIVE Facility work to with or train divers. AUSIDIVE “In-Facility” Cross-Over instructors are not authorised to issue AUSIDIVE Certifications.
2. AUSIDIVE “Independent” Cross-Over– for professionals who want to work with or train divers where they can issue AUSIDIVE Certifications either as an AUSIDIVE Facility or individually.

In both cases, AUSIDIVE Cross-Over tasks can be completed at your leisure!

Please refer to the AUSIDIVE Professional Cross-Over Standards to ascertain specific requirements for the level of cross-over you require and then select one of the following options:

AUSIDIVE “In-Facility” Cross-Over

AUSIDIVE “Independent” Cross-Over

If you are upgrading to an AUSIDIVE “Independent” Instructor then choose:

AUSIDIVE “Independent” Instructor Update

NOTE:
1. Some AUSIDIVE Cross-Over candidates may be required to complete a theory knowledge assessment.
2. AUSIDIVE Scuba Instructor Levels are determined by their experience and, where relevant, the result of the Scuba Instructor Theory Knowledge Exam.

 

AUSIDIVE “In-Facility” Cross-Over

The AUSIDIVE “In-Facility” Cross-Over is designed for professionals who wish to immediately commence work for an AUSIDIVE Facility supervising or training divers where certifications will be issued by the AUSIDIVE Facility.

The “work now” cross-over is a simple process of registration, payment, verification of relevant credentials and completion of the relevant open book AUSIDIVE Standards & Procedures Exam.

Upon completion of your cross-over you will become a registered AUSIDIVE professional and be allocated an AUSIDIVE Membership Number and be able to immediately commence work. You will also receive an AUSIDIVE Certification Card and Wall Certificate.

NOTE:

Instructors can upgrade to an AUSIDIVE “Independent” Instructor at any time by purchasing the relevant AUSIDIVE Manual Package and completing the relevant AUSIDIVE Workbook.

To complete your AUSIDIVE “In-Facility” Cross-Over please:

1. Register as an AUSIDIVE Professional, select relevant cross-over you are seeking,
2. Pay the relevant fee, the purchase of the relevant AUSIDIVE Manual Pack is optional,
3. Submit the following:

a. a passport style photograph (jpg or mobile phone), and
b. scans of the following:

i. your highest other agency certification card (both sides),
ii. current diving medical
iii. current first aid
iv. current CPR
v. current oxygen provider or higher.

When the above has been FULLY actioned you will receive the relevant documentation required to complete your AUSIDIVE Cross-Over by return e-mail.

NOTE:

1. In reference to diving medical, workplace first aid, CPR and oxygen provider certificates, the term current means valid for five years unless local authorities require less, In Australia, scuba professionals require a diving medical as defined in AS/NZ 2299.1.
2. You will have one month to complete your AUSIDIVE Cross-Over from the date of your registration.
3. Any fees paid are not refundable.
4. Your fee is also your AUSIDIVE Professional Membership Fee for the current year, renewal is required by 31 March each year.

 

 

AUSIDIVE “Independent” Cross-Over

The AUSIDIVE “Independent” Cross-Over is designed for professionals who wish to supervise and train divers and, issue AUSIDIVE Certifications independently of an AUSIDIVE Facility or wish to become an AUSIDIVE Facility.

The AUSIDIVE “Independent” cross-over is a simple process of registration, payment, verification of relevant credentials, completion of the relevant open book AUSIDIVE Standards & Procedures Exam and AUSIDIVE Workbook and, purchase of the relevant manual package.

Upon completion of your AUSIDIVE “Independent” Cross-Over will become a registered AUSIDIVE Instructor, be allocated and AUSIDIVE Membership Number and receive the relevant AUSIDIVE Manual Pack:

1. The Scuba Manual Pack includes:

a. Certification card and wall certificate,
b. The following AUSIDIVE International hard copy publications:

i. International Snorkel Diving
ii. International Open Water Scuba Diving
iii. International Advanced Scuba Diving
iv. International Rescue Diver
v. International Dive Master
vi. Recreational Scuba Diving, and
vii. QED Dive Table

  1. The Snorkel Manual Pack includes:
    1. Certification card and wall certificate,
    2. The following AUSIDIVE International hard copy publications:

i. International Snorkel Diving,

ii. International Rescue Diver, and

iii. Recreational Scuba Diving.

To complete your AUSIDIVE “Independent Cross-Over" please:

1. Register as an AUSIDIVE Professional, select relevant cross-over you are seeking,
2. Pay the relevant fee,
3. Submit the following:
